Working & celebrating

To have a life beyond bomb raids and being on service as so-called “Flakhelfer” spured Peter strongly on. This was true even if Cologne was vastly destroyed.

When war was over Peter was 16. He began an apprenticeship in the bookkeeping department. The pictures of the fifties show him being on the job. How differed the culture and behaviour in companies compared to nowadays standards! People worked a lot with this swing of the survivors of the war. But they partied as well and nobody took offense if colleagues got in touch with each other.
